About us
The Historical Science Society of Japan (REKISHIGAKU KENKYUKAI), founded in 1932, is the Society aiming at promoting investigations on historical themes and spreading knowledge of History. It is open to all of those who are interested in historical studies.
The Society:
- organizes the wide-ranging activities, such as discussions, annual and scholarly meetings, seminars, symposiums etc.,
- participates in the symposium regarding the Historical Education, archeological sites, Japanese war crimes during WWII, the National Foundation Day etc.,
- patrocinates sub-sections for scholarly investigations divided according to the eras and regions, such as "Section of Pre-Modern East Asian History," "Section of Medieval Japanese History," or "Section of Medieval and Early Modern European History." Each section holds independently its meetings and seminars several times a year, and organizes the panel in the annual meetings.
